You’ve
got a niche now and a list of keywords. Good for you, way to go! And
thanks to Dr. Ron, the
NicheProf,
for helping you. What you may not realize is that you hold in your
hands a wealth of information and the beginning of your content
creation.
First though, what exactly is content? Content is a word that is so
simple and basic that many may overlook the significance of content.
You see, content is the core of the internet. Everything on the
internet is content. The text, the pictures, the audio are all content.
The information that is given away or sold is content. Even if you sell
a hard product, say a beach chair, the photo and the description are
content. The information that you send or receive via email is content.
But, don’t get overwhelmed, you’ve got a head
start.
Why? Because you’ve already done your keyword research.
What's so important about keywords anyway?
Keywords are one of the most important aspects of your business.
Keywords are the heart; keywords pump out information and content so
your business can grow. Keywords are your foundation. You would not
have a business if it wasn't for keywords.
That's what's so important about keywords.
Most people are taught that researching keywords will help us with
identifying a niche. That’s absolutely right. But then we
move on
to the next thing to do. The problem with moving on to the next thing
is the information and content that you left behind is of great value
in the next steps.
Keyword research is like being in a library of knowledge. There's so
much information and content in keyword research.
As you do keyword research, start capturing the information that you
find. As you read through the list of keywords, make special note of
keywords that can be used as topics for your content. Utilize the
keyword list to generate ideas and start a collection of different
phrases, words, ideas, thoughts, likes, dislikes, problems, anything
you can think of that has to do with your niche.
So, carry a pad of paper around with you or use a digital recorder but
start getting these thoughts and ideas down. These thoughts and ideas
from keyword research all play a very important part to make your
business grow.
Are you starting to see how important keywords are?
By collecting the information you will also be able to multi-purpose
this information.
Example: Taking information from your keywords, you can write blogs
about your niche.
Start a blog (you can use Blogger.com to start) and post to it several
times a week. This should only take a few minutes for each post. Using
your keyword list and your idea list, pick one keyword or idea and
create a few sentences about the keyword or idea and click publish
post. You have now created a new blog post. If you do this regularly,
you will quickly have several blog posts that you can use to create a
newsletter and to combine for an article. Are you starting to
understand?
One of the main things that we live by, is to make our business Fun,
Fun, Fun.
Here's a quote for you:
"I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can
choose which it shall be.
Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet.
I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it."
Groucho Marx
That’s why following Dr. Ron’s suggestion to seek
out a
niche that is already a hobby or an interest for you is so important.
The content creation process can be a lot of fun if you have a true
interest in your niche. Finding new ideas and topics can be an
adventure. Make a game of it.
Now you have your niche and your keywords. You’ve used your
keywords to generate ideas, create blog posts and to kick-off your
newsletter.
Congratulations and best wishes for much success as you continue your
exciting journey into the world of the internet.
