What Is Web
2.0 And How Does It
Relate To Marketing?
Lori
Steffen and Jeff Wark from Baltimore, Maryland also
known as The
Dynamic Duo of Content have launched a new blog to discuss the meaning
of Web
2.0 from a marketing and content development perspective.
The
term
Web 2.0 has been around since 2004. O'Reilly
media is credited with giving Web 2.0 its name when they launched the
Web 2.0
Summit. During this
time there has been
much discussion of the term Web 2.0 by technology minded people.
But
the
mainstream public, media and companies are only now being exposed to
its
possibilities and its meaning as it relates to their own lives and
companies.
What's
so
amazing is that everyone seems to have their own opinion about and
definition
of Web 2.0.
Some
people say that Web 2.0 started back when the computer first went
online. Others have
said it's a fad. Still
others believe it is a piece of
software.
How can a
term that has been in use for three years have no defined meaning?
So what
is Web 2.0 really?
Being
successful marketers for the past 2 1/2 years and traveling to many of
the
Internet marketing seminars around the country, Lori and Jeff decided
to make
available a way for marketers to discuss their ideas on Web 2.0.
Spawned
by a disparaging comment from successful marketer Alan Bechtold, they decided it
was time
to find out what marketing people think of Web 2.0.
Their
new
blog http://www.Web2IsWhat.com
is
filled with quotes, references, controversy and some fun videos to explore this
concept.
